New AI-powered GEMS system will help reshape entity management
Computershare has unveiled a significant artificial intelligence (AI)‑powered update to its Global Entity Management System (GEMS™) that it says will help companies further streamline the management of their legal entities.
Large companies around the world use Computershare’s GEMS™ platform to centralize and securely manage their legal entity data and documents, mitigate associated risk and gain greater control of their compliance and regulatory obligations of those entities.
Computershare’s introduction of ‘GEMS AI’ is available to all clients through a standard browser and via the GEMS™ mobile app. The core functionality is available now with plans for additional future enhancements through 2025 and beyond. The new module includes using generative AI to:
Accelerate how GEMS AI ‘learns’ from each interaction, and as a result, users will have enhanced interactive support across an organization.
Automatically extract and update key data elements from sources, such as corporate resolutions and external legal databases.
Unlock real-time insights from entity data, including potential compliance risks, jurisdictional and divisional activities using written or spoken natural language queries.
Analyze and compare information from key contractual obligations and other documents.
Draft corporate resolutions based on a company’s past templates.
Introduce a new ‘smart assistant’ agent that continuously learns and, as a result, provides tailored answers to users' questions.
“Artificial intelligence solutions such as GEMS AI have the potential to reshape entity management completely,” said Andrew Moore, Co-CEO, Computershare Entity Solutions.
“Already we have seen how GEMS AI can provide clients increased insights into their entity data through natural language queries and how it can streamline complex tasks and functions as the system constantly learns, grows and improves.
“We believe that our enhanced AI-powered entity management system can significantly improve productivity, efficiency and accuracy in entity management for legal departments and all stakeholders.
“We’ve also ensured the right access controls are in place to safeguard our clients’ data and intellectual property by taking a rigorous and measured approach to the addition of AI into the GEMS system’s introduction.”
Computershare recently renamed its Governance Services business as ‘Computershare Entity Solutions’, highlighting the extensive range and depth of its client services with a focus on legal entity management.
